Unfortunately the December edition of the Dunston Dossier was the last monthly newsletter to be printed. Every effort is being made to bring back the Dossier but this may be a quarterly publication and not monthly.
The Dunston Dossier Newsletter was printed every month on our trusty domestic inkjet printer and a laser printer. Copies were delivered free to all households in Dunston Parish by a group of willing volunteers and copies were available to pick up in the Village Hall, the Red Lion and Nocton Post Office.
Local organisations were invited to provide us with details of fundraising activities, reports on events and general updates to be included in the newsletter which neeedd to be submitted to the editors by the 21st of the month for inclusion in the next month's newsletter.
Dunston Dossier is an independent newsletter and financed through income raised at the monthly Dunston Hub and fundraising activities such as our popular Craft Fairs held twice a year and advertising revenue.
Our advertisers were either Dunston residents or local businesses.
There was no charge for entries in our Wanted or For Sale section.
Dunston Dossier & Dunston Hub
Helping the Dunston Community
From time to time we are fortunate enough to raise more money from our fundraising activities than we need to cover our costs and then we are able to make donations to other local projects.
Over the past 3 years we have provided:
18 tables - 3ft square and a set of wine glasses to Dunston Village Hall
2 tables - to the Mothers (Dads) and Toddlers Group
£150 to Dunston St Peter's Primary School for outside furniture
£100 to Dunston St Peter's Church for Alter Linen
£100 to the Rescue Ponies in Dunston towards their farriery costs.
