Dunston Bowls Club

The bowls season starts at the end of April each year.

We are a small friendly Club who play in three leagues on Monday and Wednesday evenings and on Wednesday afternoons. We hold an open day early in the season for complete beginners who would like to try bowls, or for people who used to play and would like to start again.

Do come along and enjoy a game. Spare sets of bowls are available and all you need are some flat soled shoes (and waterproofs!). Don't let lack of kit put you off trying this game.

Dunston & Trangé

Twinning Association

The Twinning Association has been in existence for over twenty years. Trangé is a village near to Le Mans, it’s a bit bigger than Dunston, with a primary school, a small library, a couple of shops, church and a community hall At present we have about 46 families (French and English) involved, we are a fairly mixed bunch and our ages are spread right across the board.

Every year the people in the “Twinning” meet up, alternately in France and England. Families stay with one another, getting to know each other well over the years. It is really good fun for all the family, and an excellent way to discover France, make friends, enjoy the lifestyle, and pick up some French – you really don’t need to know much to start with.

During the year we hold a couple of events to raise funds and of course in the summer The Duck Race.
