Dunston Bowls Club
The bowls season starts at the end of April each year.
We are a small friendly Club who play in three leagues on Monday and Wednesday evenings and on Wednesday afternoons. We hold an open day early in the season for complete beginners who would like to try bowls, or for people who used to play and would like to start again.
Do come along and enjoy a game. Spare sets of bowls are available and all you need are some flat soled shoes (and waterproofs!). Don't let lack of kit put you off trying this game.

Dunston & Trangé
The Twinning Association has been in existence for over twenty years. Trangé is a village near to Le Mans, it’s a bit bigger than Dunston, with a primary school, a small library, a couple of shops, church and a community hall At present we have about 46 families (French and English) involved, we are a fairly mixed bunch and our ages are spread right across the board.
Every year the people in the “Twinning” meet up, alternately in France and England. Families stay with one another, getting to know each other well over the years. It is really good fun for all the family, and an excellent way to discover France, make friends, enjoy the lifestyle, and pick up some French – you really don’t need to know much to start with.
During the year we hold a couple of events to raise funds and of course in the summer The Duck Race.

DUNSTON CARPET BOWLS CLUB
celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, and has been nominated to be included in the Community Champions project sponsored by the Co-Op. Between the 8th June and 6th September; any purchases in the Co-Op (using your Dividend Card) will help to raise funds for the continuation of the Bowls Club. The playing equipment is in need of replacement and the Club hopes any monies raised will contribute towards new mats. The total raised will be split 3 ways with 2 other local clubs.
Dunston Carpet Bowls meets in the Village Hall each Wednesday evening and is supported by 16 longstanding members. New members are welcome to join for the coming season (October/April).
All ages are welcome.
Mums (Dads) and Toddlers Club
This Club meets in the Chapel on Monday and Thursday mornings between 9 and 11.30am every week and welcomes Mums or Dads with babies and young children before they start school or nursery. The Chapel room is a safe and warm environment where parents can chat about the highs and lows of having young children. The youngsters can learn to share toys and play together. It is a social event for both parents and children and you will be made most welcome.
For more information contact Yvonne on 01526 320199
or Kate on 01526 399220.
This is held at the Chapel on Saturday afternoons at 4 pm – from time to time.
It is faith based and involves lots of activities, crafts, games and songs – suitable for all ages with a focus on primary school age.
There is usually a theme which we explore through crafts etc and then we have tea together – sometimes a take-away.
